Castello Banfi Brunello Di Montalcino 2018 double barrel bourbon Named after the Baptist preacher Named after the Baptist preacher who is often (though somewhat mythically) credited with inventing bourbon by aging corn whiskey in charred oak barrels Enticing notes of sweet fig and blood orange deriving from the sherry influence are complemented by the Cognac cask’s warming notes of ginger Their 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is hearty and dark with a level of distinguished power (with 15% alcohol) and sophistication that you only get with Brunello a wine that by law ages for five years before its commercial release
