Legendary sprinter Jesse Owens broke five world records and equalled a sixth in the space of 45 minutes competing at the Big Ten Championships at Ann Arbor, Michigan on this day in 1935. Owens would run into track and field immortality at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, where he won four gold medals, the 100 and 200m, long jump and 4x100m
